Empowering communities to save lives through comprehensive emergency preparedness training and medical education. Inspired by the belief that everyone deserves a chance at life, we provide accessible, high-quality CPR, first aid, and medical training to individuals and organizations across all skill levels. A Vision For Change

From our founding in 2006 to today, we've grown from a small training center to a regional leader in medical and safety education.

2006

A Passion for Saving Lives

Owner Shae Freeman became an instructor as a volunteer through the American Red Cross in Phoenix Arizona. Shae's passion for teaching was a result of sadly losing her own Grandmother in 2001 to sudden cardiac arrest.

2010

AHA Instructor Certification

Shae became a certified AHA Instructor as a faculty adjunct instructor through Fortis College in Phoenix Arizona.

2016

Community Responders Opens for Business

Community Responders official started business in 2016. At the time, the company offered 100% mobile training. A few good friends helped promote the company to others, and from there Community Responders' reputation began to soar across Arizona.

2017 - 2019

Regional Expansion

Service locations gradually expanded into Atlanta and Las Vegas. Community Responders became an International Training Provider in 2019, offering classes in Puerto Penasco Mexico. Course offerings expanded to NAEMT courses, and State mandated classes for caregivers.

2020

Virtual Training

Adapted to provide hybrid and virtual training options during the pandemic, ensuring continuous education for healthcare workers.

2022

AHA Training Site Expansion

Community Responders expands nationally, partnering with instructors in a variety of cities to expand reach in offering quality CPR and Emergency Preparedness courses.

2025

Continued Growth

Today, we continue to serve thousands of students annually with over 25 certification programs and a 99% pass rate.

Shae's journey in lifesaving began with a deeply personal tragedy - the sudden cardiac arrest death of her beloved grandmother in 2001. This profound loss ignited an unwavering passion for emergency preparedness that has driven her mission for nearly two decades. As a Paramedic with over 15 years of pre-hospital emergency care experience, Shae has not only saved countless lives in the field but has also empowered over 10,000 individuals with life-saving skills through her training programs. Her dedication extends beyond emergency medicine into rare disease advocacy, where she has founded multiple non-profit organizations and authored several educational books to raise awareness about rare disorders. As a proud ambassador for NORD (National Organization for Rare Disorders), Shae actively participates in their annual Rare Disease Day, using her platform to amplify the voices of rare disease patients and families. Her unique combination of emergency medical expertise and rare disease advocacy has created a lasting impact on communities nationwide, transforming tragedy into a legacy of hope and preparedness.

Dr. Aloysius Fobi graduated from Amherst College in 1995 and earned his medical degree at Oregon Health Science University (OHSU) in 1999. Over the past 20 years, he has established himself as a distinguished board-certified emergency medicine physician and associate professor at OHSU. Dr. Fobi is also dedicated to education and has taught numerous practitioners the art and science of injection techniques. His ability to impart knowledge and skills to others has earned him a reputation as a respected educator and mentor in the field.

His own personal struggles with a rare disease, combined with the guidance of his mother Shae Freeman, sparked a deep passion for motivating others through lifesaving skills and community service. Today, DeVion manages our social media presence and marketing initiatives, creating engaging content that connects with our community while drawing from his personal understanding of health challenges and the importance of preparedness. His expertise in digital marketing, press releases, and media relations helps expand our reach and communicate our mission effectively across all platforms. Beyond marketing, DeVion actively contributes to our training programs as a skills evaluator when needed and is currently preparing to become a certified instructor, continuing his lifelong commitment to helping others through both philanthropy and lifesaving education.

Donovan brings a unique entrepreneurial spirit to Community Responders, having started his journey as a YouTube influencer at just 11 years old, creating engaging online gameshows for his subscribers. This early experience in content creation and audience engagement has shaped his understanding of how to connect with and motivate people. As a driven young adult, Donovan is passionate about using his growing influence to encourage others to pursue lifesaving training, recognizing the vital importance of emergency preparedness in every community. Before transitioning to his current administrative role, Donovan served as a skills evaluator for Community Responders, giving him firsthand experience in assessing student competency and understanding the training process from multiple perspectives. Now in Client Services, he combines his entrepreneurial mindset with his practical training experience to handle ecard processing, certification management, and ensure students receive their credentials promptly and accurately, all while maintaining the high standards of service that reflect his organization's commitment to helping others succeed.
